Seattle Southside RTA Welcomes Cydney Marks-Nicholes as Sports Business Development Manager
Seattle Southside Regional Tourism Authority is excited to announce the hiring of Cydney Marks-Nicholes as their new Sports Business Development Manager. Cydney grew up in Seattle, but left to attend Boston University, where she majored in Hospitality Administration. She later attended Bayes Business School in London, where she received her MS in Marketing Strategy & Innovation.
Cydney has extensive experience in the sports world, especially in rowing, where she has been both a coach and an athlete. As a coach for Oakland Strokes Rowing, she planned regattas, developed and executed a team training plan, assisted with team recruitment and outreach events, and oversaw team communication. She has also worked in the business development realm, managing catered events at the Anaheim Convention Center and executing sales strategies for Aramark Uniform Services.
As the new Sports Business Development Manager, Cydney will work with sporting event planners who are looking to host tournaments, clinics, and other sporting events to help them find not only the perfect venue for their event, but to find the lodging and dining necessary to ensure that all their attendees have the best possible time. With a wide variety of sporting venues, from world-class soccer facilities at Starfire Sports to the newly-renovated North SeaTac Park BMX Track and beyond, plus a plethora of lodging options available, Seattle Southside makes the ideal locale for any sporting event.
