Have you ever dreamed of seeing wild Orcas? Set out on a high-speed powerboat cruising through the dynamic scenery of the San Juan Islands to search for orcas, humpbacks, grays, and minke whales. In addition to whales, we also frequently encounter seals, sea lions, porpoises, otters, eagles, and many sea birds. Outer Island Excursions is the premiere aquatic adventure tour company in the region, finding whales on over 95% of our tours for over a decade. Our closest location to Seattle is 90 minutes north in Anacortes at Skyline Marina (2201 Skyline Way Anacortes WA 98221). We are in the red roofed building on the first floor, parking is available in the gravel lot behind our office.

We have two group/shared whale watching tours:

Whale & Orca Tour: look for Orcas, Humpbacks, Grays, & Minke Whales. Guaranteed Sightings: See a whale or an orca or come again for free! (any of the four whale species will satisfy this guarantee). We prioritize finding Orcas, which are our most frequent sighting. We have a 99% success rate on all whales, about 75% chance of seeing Orcas specifically. Daily departures from March to November.

Orca Only Tour: Focus on finding Orcas (Killer Whales). Guaranteed Orcas: See orcas or come again for free! (Only orcas will satisfy this guarantee) 98% success finding Orcas! Departures from May through September.

We also have Birdwatching tours every other Friday in summer. Look for Tufted Puffins, Horned Puffins, Rhinoceros Auklets, Common Murres, Ancient and Marbled Murrelets, Pigeon Guillemots, Black Oystercatchers, Harlequin Ducks, Bald Eagles, Osprey, Peregrine Falcons, Brown Pelicans, and a wide variety of other sea birds, gulls and shorebirds.

We also offer custom private charters for any ocean activity or event: Island hopping, fishing & crabbing, birdwatching, lighthouse tours, weddings, memorials, corporate retreats, private whale and wildlife viewing... The possibilities are endless!
