Your Ideal Military Reunion Starts Here
From Sky High to High Seas, Seattle Southside Is Your Military Reunion Home Base
From soaring through the skies to sailing on the high seas, Seattle Southside is home to some of the United States Armed Forces’ greatest achievements and historical excellence—and close to many military bases including Joint Base Lewis-McChord and Naval Base Kitsap—making it the ideal destination for groups to bring their military reunions.
A Curiously Wonderful Place Filled With So Many Things to See and Do
When you plan to bring your military reunion to Seattle Southside, your group will not only get to enjoy Pacific Northwest views, incredible accommodations and budget-friendly amenities, but also top-notch attractions and memorabilia of historical and military importance. With the countless activities at your disposal, your military reunion itinerary will be jam-packed with can’t-miss experiences.
Soar Through History at The Museum of Flight
Take a tour through the wonders of flight and historic aviation at The Museum of Flight. Military reunion groups can explore its 15-acre campus, featuring historical air and spacecraft attractions. These attractions include the original Boeing Aircraft factory, flight simulators, interactive exhibits, the only full-scale NASA Space Shuttle Trainer, the Air Force One that served presidents Eisenhower, Kennedy, Johnson and Nixon, the Aviation Pavilion—a 3-acre, open-air gallery showcasing 18 of the world’s most important airliners and military aircraft—and so much more. Groups can take museum tours guided by trained docent tour guides who are experts in specific exhibits and aircraft.
See the Innovation of Aviation at the Future of Flight
After your military reunion group explores through aviation’s past, set sight (and flight) for the future with the Future of Flight Aviation Center & Boeing Tour. Home of the world-renowned Boeing Assembly Plant Tour, the Future of Flight facility is the largest building in the world (by volume). It offers virtual tour experiences and interactive exhibits on the innovation of aviation.
Explore This Must-See Maritime Museum
Plan to experience a piece of maritime history that will leave your military reunion group talking for weeks with a tour of the USS Turner Joy (DD-951) Naval Destroyer Museum Ship. Located in Bremerton, Washington, groups can take a quick 30-minute ferry ride from Seattle across the Puget Sound to see the famed Navy ship. As the last Forrest Sherman class destroyer built, the ship remains close to her original 1959 configuration and has been restored to reflect the appearance during her active years between 1960 and 1982.
Bring Your Reunion Group to Your (Military) Home Base
Your military reunion group can take in all the action of today’s Armed Forces at one of the many military bases in or close to the Seattle Southside region. Joint Base Lewis-McChord (JBLM) is one of the world’s largest military complexes and can (conditionally) be available for tours—and also features the nearby Fort Lewis Museum to see exhibits of the base’s 100 years of activity. Groups can also visit Naval Base Kitsap—which is the third largest naval base in the country and includes one of the United States’ two Trident submarine bases in Bangor—or take a quick ferry ride over to neighboring Bremerton Naval Station.

Raving Reviews for Our Military Reunions
When the U.S.S. Oklahoma City Association decided to hold its annual military reunion in Seattle Southside, it started with reluctance due to costs involved around the city of Seattle, but turned into a reasonable, budget-friendly surprise discovered in the Southside area.
“Our hotel, the Doubletree Suites by Hilton, was perfect for a military reunion and hosted a complimentary buffet breakfast each morning. Its location was near the Sea-Tac Airport, and the airport shuttles were also complimentary, as were destinations within a 3-mile radius. There were shopping and dining venues within walking distance and in all directions from the hotel. I highly recommend Seattle Southside as the destination for military reunions.”
- John Baker, President of the U.S.S. Oklahoma City Association
