As an event planner, supporting Black-owned service providers is not only a socially responsible action, but it also brings several benefits to your event and your business. Supporting Black-owned businesses is an essential step towards promoting diversity and inclusion. By intentionally seeking out and selecting Black-owned service providers, you're creating a more inclusive and diverse event. In turn, this helps to foster a more welcoming and accepting environment for all attendees.

By using your platform to support Black-owned businesses, you're contributing to a more just and equitable society. As an event planner, you have the power to make a difference in your community and your industry by intentionally seeking out and working with black-owned businesses.

Kariba is a lovable, hip and fresh photographer who loves capturing the now and holds more than 10 years of experience. She started doing photography professionally back in 2010 after leaving a corporate job, but has loved taking pictures since she was a little girl. When asked, Kariba says that “the best event I have worked to date would certainly be the Amazon Shine event. It was a conference for Black Women in leadership at Amazon. Being able to capture and be in a space with so many beautiful and incredibly sophisticated women was truly a sight to see.”

Smile Patrol is a service of The Elite Collective specializing in both in-person and virtual photobooth experiences. Carlos Imani, owner of both Smile Patrol and The Elite Collective, says that he tries to bring the same joy and passion that he and his team brought to his own wedding to every single event they work.


Lorenzo Hill
Lorenzo Hill specializes in portrait and headshot photography. In addition to his photography, he's also a father, veteran, and a former member of the U.S. Olympic Skeleton and Bobsled teams!
