The 7 Best Burgers in Seattle Southside
BEST RESTAURANTS FOR BURGERS IN SEATTLE SOUTHSIDE
There's nothing like a delicious, juicy burger any day of the week.
Wondering where are some of the best restaurants near Seattle to grab a burger? We’ve got plenty of great options for you to consider in Seattle Southside, from local specialties to beloved chains.
7. The Shack Stack at Shake Shack
The beloved Shake Shack recently opened its doors in Westfield Southcenter Mall, and we couldn't be more excited. But the question is, what kind of patty to get—a fried mushroom burger or regular beef burger? Why not have both? Get yourself a Shack Stack and you'll get the best of both worlds, enjoying an Angus beef cheeseburger topped with a 'Shroom Burger with lettuce, tomato, and ShackSauce on a toasted potato bun.
6. BBQ Burger at Billy Baroo's
Get your burger with a side of Greens—the Greens at the golf course, that is! Billy Baroo's Bar & Grill at Foster Golf Links has a great selection of hot and delicious menu items and plenty of cold drinks to wash it all down. They also offer a Salmon burger as well as a fried cod burger, but the BBQ burger is the best of your classic burger choices here, which makes sense because Billy Baroo's is a BBQ smokehouse! Book your tee time and try one for yourself! Not a golfer? Not to worry, Billy Baroo's is open to the public too!
5. The Deluxe at Dick's Drive-In
We couldn’t have a list of the best burgers in Seattle Southside without including Dick’s Drive-In. Locals already know it, but visitors might think of Dick’s as Seattle’s version of In-N-Out (although to loyal Seattleites, there is no competition as to which is better). Dick’s features a simple menu of burgers, fries, soda, and shakes and they’ve mastered their craft, as they are famous for their literally instant service! While this does mean you can't make customizations to these burgers, you likely won't need to. The Deluxe, clocking in with two 1/8 pound grilled patties, melted cheese, lettuce, mayonnaise, and relish, is a local classic for a reason. Got a picky eater? Many of the condiments can be ordered on the side, and plain burgers are available.
Our closest location is on Pacific Highway in Kent, but you can also find a location at Capitol Hill, not far from the Light Rail Station, which is easily accessible from Seattle Southside and makes for a great end to your downtown Seattle day trip!
4. The Super Cheesy Burger at Bowlero South Seattle
Bowlero South Seattle is home to this classic American burger with two patties, american cheese, lettuce, tomato, and pickles. Simple? Maybe, but when simple is done just right, it's a thing of beauty, and at Bowlero this burger is perfectly done, making it the ideal companion for a night of bowling.
3. Teriyaki Burger at Bob's Burgers and Teriyaki
This unassuming little burger joint on the border of SeaTac and Des Moines holds the rare distinction in fusion restaurants of succeeding at both sides of the spectrum. At Bob's Burgers and Teriyaki (no relation to the cartoon), the teriyaki is great and the burgers are classic. But what happens when you combine the two? A savory beef patty grilled with sweet teriyaki sauce for the perfect marriage of opposites, topped off with jalapeno jam that's just spicy enough to wake up your tastebuds without overwhelming you, plus mayo, lettuce, tomato, pickles, and American cheese to complete the classic burger. Add a side of crinkle cut fries and one of their rich and delicious milkshakes and you've got one awesome meal.
2. Santa Barbara Char at The Habit
The Habit opened in Tukwila a couple years ago to huge fanfare. The lines have died down a bit (thankfully), but the flavor of their world-famous charburger is still as spectacular as ever, thanks to their open flame charcoal grill. In 2015, Consumer Reports named Habit’s Charburger as the best burger in America, beating out IN-N-OUT, Shake Shack, and Five Guys. While the classic is delicious, our personal favorite draws flavor inspiration from the city that first started the chain, with its grilled sourdough slices in place of a bun, fresh avocado, and caramelized onions topping off two chargrilled patties with lettuce, tomato and mayo. Now that's a mouthful!
1. The Monster at Sharps' RoastHouse
But what if you want more than a mouthful? Sharps' RoastHouse knows a thing or two about meat. So, when you stop by and aren’t in the mood for brisket or prime rib, try one their prime grade marble "hamburgs," like the Seattle Classic pictured above. Too basic for you? Well, why not double the Seattle Classic, throw a grilled cheese sandwich in the middle, and take The Monster challenge? If you can polish off this beast in under five minutes, it's free, and you get to join the wall of fame. But beware: while many have heard the call, few have bested the Monster.
