On the Southside

Starting at the South tip of Seattle Southside, stop at the Kent Valley Ice Centre for a few laps around the ice rink! They also have a small arcade and batting cages for those not interested in ice skating. Then head down the street to Kent Station and catch Shrek the Third or Pirates of the Carribean Part III at the AMC 14 Theatres or spend some time shopping at kid favorite's like Claire's, Hot Topic, Justice Just For Girls, PacSun and Zumiez. Criss-cross the Kent Valley and hit the Hydroplane and Raceboat Museum, the only museum in the country dedicated to racing boats. Here, you can see restored classics and memoribilia from hydroplane racing history.

Up the hill in Des Moines, bring the kids to the Des Moines Beach Park, a hot-spot for beach-combing and playground action. What kid doesn't like a taste of the beach!! If it's lunch time, stop at Red Robin close to the waterfront for some great kid-friendly atmosphere, famous burgers and an occasional appearance by the mascot "Red".

Just North in SeaTac, kid's will enjoy a stop at Angle Lake Park where lifeguards are on duty at the swimming area from mid-June through Labor Day. There is also a fishing pier, playground, picnic areas, barbeques and more. During certain times of summer you just may catch the theatre in the park or concerts in the park series. 

Back down the hill in Tukwila, you will find the Family Fun Center -- the ultimate kid's favorite in Seattle Southside. With arcade games, carnival style games, outdoor rides, go karts, bumper boats, two miniature golf courses, the screamin' swing, laser tag, a 3-D virtual ride and much more, families can easily spend a few hours here! 

When its time to move on, head over to The Museum of Flight, one of the country's largest flight museum's and home to the historic Boeing Red Barn. Dinner time will bring you to Westfield Southcenter Mall where the Rainforest Cafe will capture your kid's attention with a "rainstorm" occuring every 15 minutes and great food too! After dinner, take a stroll around the state's largest indoor shopping mall and catch your favorite stores!

Across the street from Westfield Southcenter Mall, head to Acme Bowling, Billiards and Events. This urban, hip bowling alley is a hit with all ages! Get a game of family bowling going and if you are still hungry, the pizza is great!
